Types
Single Implants

Single Implants

Single implants are mostly advised for the patient if bridge option is not possible ,if the adjacent teeth is compromised as we can’t take support for the bridge and replacement option without disturbing the adjacent natural teeth. Even though there is a healthy adjacent tooth we advise implants for replacing the missing tooth to avoid the trimming of adjacent tooth

Single implant is a very minimal surgical procedure and also a perfect and healthy solution for your missing tooth.

In the case of a single tooth implant, if it is a front tooth , a temporary tooth will be given during the waiting period.

Full Mouth Rehabilitation

  • Full mouth rehabilitation with dental implants is the best fixed replacement option for completely edentulous jaws.
  • Completely edentulous upper and lower arch.
  • Periodontally affected gum disease weakened upper and lower teeth in full arch and traumatically fractured multiple missing teeth with less number of natural teeth present.
  • Not comfortable with removable dentures.
  • In this case we can replace the entire tooth arch with 4/6/8 implants. Fixed full mouth rehabilitation of complete upper and lower arch can be done with dental implants.

This system is called the “All on 4” and “All on 6” technique.

Full Mouth Rehabilitation
Multiple Implant

Multiple Implants

It is also called the Implant Bridge .In case of 2 or more missing teeth, multiple implants can be done for sectional replacement. Number of implants depends on space available for replacement, number of missing teeth and your quality & quantity of bone available.

All on 4/Dental Implants

  • The protocol uses two implants in the anterior part of complete edentulous jaws to support a provisional fixed and immediately loaded prosthesis.
  • The two most anterior implants are placed axially, whereas the two posterior implants are placed distally and angled to minimize the cantilever length, and to allow the fixing of prosthesis with up to 12 teeth, likewise we can enhance the chewing efficiency.
All on 4/Dental Implants
All on 6/Dental Implants

All on 6/Dental Implants

  • All on 6 implants are a revolutionary dental restoration technique designed to replace an entire arch of missing teeth unlike traditional denture, which implants that are securely anchored to the bone which offers stability and functionality . Either hybrid denture or ceramic crowns can be given.
  • If four implants are not sufficient for replacing the 12 teeth ,according to arch length and bone quality ,an additional number of implants are needed .As it entirely based on individual patients’ needs your dentist will suggest either All on 4 or All on 6.
  • In the lower arch mandible if there is very minimal bone due to more bone (Restoration) more implants are needed then it also goes for all on 6.

Surgical Procedure

  • This is the same as all on 4 techniques.
  • Records, investigation.
  • Comprehensive evaluation (CBCT).
  • Implant placement (one day procedure).
  • Temporary prosthesis.
  • Healing period(4-6 months).
  • Final prosthesis.
  • Regular checkups.

Final Prosthesis

  • Final prosthesis will be given 4 -6 months later after the complete integration of implants with bone.
  • After the integration period temporary teeth is removed and implants are load with final prosthesis That is,
  • Hybrid denture or ceramic teeth bridge.
  • IN ALL ON 4, Implants are connected with denture with bar attachment like,
    • Titanium/Zirconia,
    • Meshwork.

In all on 6 implants we can give Hybrid denture or ceramic tooth, Which very clearly mimic the natural tooth. It doesn’t have dentures around the teeth.

Steps

Hybrid Dentures

  • In full mouth rehabilitation with 4 implants per arch gives you a hybrid denture, which holds 12 teeth/arch.
  • That looks like a conventional denture without palatal coverage and which is attached or fixed to the implants.
  • Hybrid dentures in ALL ON 4/ALL ON 6 implants involve attaching a final set of artificial teeth to a sturdy titanium framework. This framework is connected to the four precisely positioned implants, creating a hybrid solution that combines the advantages of implants with the convenience of denture.
  • Hybrid dentures closely mimic the appearance of natural teeth contributing to a confident and natural looking smile.
  • Patient experience improved chewing function enabling them to enjoy a diverse range of foods with ease.
  • Maintaining good oral hygiene is paramount to improve the efficiency and ensure the longevity of the hybrid denture.
  • To increase the strength of the denture:
    • Bar attachment.
    • Titanium meshwork.

Can be included according to the strength we need.

Bar Attachment

Titanium Bar

  • Titanium bar attachments are often used in all four dental implants to provide stability and support for the prosthetic tooth.
  • These are custom designed to fit securely to the implants, offering a strong foundation for the denture.
  • Titanium bars are custom fabricated to connect the individual implants ,creating a secure framework for the attachment of the prosthetic appliance.
Benefits :
  • Enhance stability.
  • Improved chewing efficiency.
  • Reduced maintenance.

Each titanium bar attachment is meticulously designed to match the unique anatomy of the patient’s jaw. This customization ensures snug fit and optimal load distribution, contributing to the longevity of the prosthetic restoration.

Attachment
Zirconium Bar Attachment

Zirconium Bar Attachment

Zirconium ,a strong and durable ceramic material has become a popular choice in dental restoration due to its biocompatibility and aesthetic qualities .In all on 4 treatments ,a custom fabricated zirconium bar serves as the structural foundation for the final prosthesis. This bar is precision –milled to fit securely onto the four strategically placed implants, providing stability and support for the attached dental bridge.

Advantages

Strength & durability
  • Zirconium’s robust nature ensures longevity and resilience.
Bio Compatibility
  • Resistance to corrosion.
  • Minimizes the chance of aligner reactions.
  • Promoter the optional healing.
Aesthetic Concern
  • Tooth colored appearance.
  • Natural look compared to traditional materials.
Thinner & Lighter
  • The reduced weight doesn’t compromise the stability.

Titanium Meshwork

Meshwork, a reinforcing structure often made from titanium,is introduced to enhance the stability and longevity of the ALL ON 4/ALL ON 6 implants with hybrid dentures. This meshwork acts as a scaffold, promoting osseointegration and providing additional support to the implants.

Benefits

  • Improved stability.
  • Enhanced bone support.
  • Optimized osseointegration.
  • Versatility in challenging cases.
Titanium Meshwork
Zirconium Bar Attachment

Porcelain Teeth/Ceramic Bridge

  • Metal copings.
  • 12-teeth.
  • Full ceramic.
  • Without dentures

Benefits

Enhanced Stability : The placement of more number of implants provides increased stability and support for the full arch prosthesis promoting longevity of the prosthesis

Distribution of Load : With the placement of strategically positioned implants the load distribution is optimized reducing the stress on individual implants and enhancing overall strength.

Bone Preservation : All on 6 implants often minimize bone resorption and contribute to preservation of jaw bone and maintaining facial aesthetics.

Improved Chewing Efficiently : As the prosthetic part is firmly fixed and stable, chewing efficiency is more like natural teeth.

Advantages

  • The main advantage of this system is there is no palatal coverage of dentures for retention.
  • Also there is no slipping and lifting of dentures.
  • Because there is no or very minimal bone loss with implants when compared to dentures.
  • The cleaning and maintaining is very easy like natural teeth maintenance.

Implant Supported Dentures

  • Semi fixed implants -type of replacement to enhance stability & functionality.
  • 2/4 implants with Ball attachment are used to hold the removable complete dentures in position.
  • They consist of a ball-shaped attachment on the implant fixture, to which the corresponding socket in the denture or prosthetic appliance gets fixed.
  • This attachment provides stability and retention, allowing for a secure fit of the denture on the implants.
  • Implants with ball attachment only hold and support the denture. But the dentures are not fixed permanently.

Zygomatic Implants

  • Even patients with highly compromised alveolar bone in the upper jaw can also have fixed rehabilitation with the help of zygomatic implants.
  • Zygomatic implants are longer dental implants that are anchored in the zygomatic bone rather than the maxillary upper jaw bone. This technique is used when there is insufficient bone in the upper jaw, because of more bone resorptions.
  • Zygomatic implants provide a stable foundation for supporting a fixed dental prosthesis, like an implant supported bridge or denture.
  • The decision to use zygomatic implants is typically made based on a thorough evaluation of the patient’s anatomy and specific dental needs by the implant team.

Pterygoid Implants

  • Pterygoid implants are a type of dental implant placed in the upper jaw especially for patients where traditional implant placement might be challenging due to insufficient bone in the posterior maxilla and sinus.
  • Placed in the pterygoid region, these implants provide stability for supporting a fixed dental prosthesis, such as an implant supported bridge, the decision to use pterygoid implants is typically based on the patients individual anatomy and the assessment of the dental implant team.
  • It is a specialized technique aimed at overcoming certain anatomical limitations for successful implant – supported restorations.
